My client is currently searching for an experienced Supply Chain Functional Team Lead on behalf of their client in the UAE. They are offering a salary commensurate with experience and qualifications, with permanent residency available upon request.

Lead the joint team (Functional and Technical) for Supply Chain throughout the mobilisation, design, build, test, deployment and post go-live stages of the implementation

 

Whilst not expected to make technical IT decisions, this person will be the lead for all work related to taking the SC processes live, across all streams including functional specification, technical specification, configuration and coding, testing, data migration, communication, training, UAT, cut-over and post go-live support. Role will be paired with a person from the implementation service provider who will complement their functional experience with knowledge of the technical aspects of SAP.

Requirements

  • Lead the functional team - conduct regular team meetings, coach and support team members, explain goals and work clearly and carefully, manage internal conflict, and motivate the team through building a collaborative environment.Plan the work of the functional team in detail. This includes defining the work - with guidance from their SAP team lead - as well as assigning start and due dates, and making team assignments.
  • Manage the interaction with the functional stakeholders and other members of the Supply Chain team. This includes negotiating scope and requirements and facilitating workable compromises.
  • Provide visible leadership in terms of design workshops, user acceptance testing and user training
  • Drive the formal sign-off of the user requirements, functional designs, RICEFW inventory, test plans, user acceptance testing, training material and training plans.
  • Manage the interaction with Supply Chain data purification team, including making decisions with regards to data structures and the approach to data conversion.
  • Manage interactions with other teams within the AOP implementation project.
  • Report status to the overall project management, based on factual reviews of the completion of deliverables.
  • Identify and manage the functional stream’s risks and issues
  • Ideally has specific experience in implementing SAP or another sizeable ERP (Oracle, Ellipse, JD Edwards, ..) - and the relevant modules as a functional team lead.
  • Understands the basics of systems interfacing and integration.
  • Understands how user requirement and functional design work has an impact on the effort and complexity of technical build, test and deployment activities.
  • Ability to handle pressure and deadlines
  • Sensitivity to team stresses/ people requirements
  •  Ability to motivate and encourage their team
  • Responsive - decisions and actions will need rapid turnaround time
  • Accessible and flexible
  • A collaborative mind-set, one in which all the team members are treated equally and included in all conversations

Experience :

  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience in Supply Chain, preferably in a Managerial Role

Managerial Skills Requirement:

  • Project Planning, Scheduling and Resource Balancing
  • Team Supervision - allocating work, motivating and supporting / coaching team members, providing honest and unbiased performance feedback.
  • Stakeholder Management - must have the personal presence and credibility to engage with heads of discipline and their teams.
  • Standard Project Management skills - tracking effort, cost, work completion, schedule adherence, issues, risks, quality, and compliance.
  • Basic Organisational Change Management - change impact, sponsorship, components of culture change, communication effectiveness (ideally).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or related field required
  • SAP certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in supply chain management with SAP experience required.
  • Experience leading and managing projects in a business environment is required.
