WHAT WILL YOU DO?

As a leading developer of legal software solutions for the South African and international markets, we are looking for a Data Migration Consultant to join our multi-national team.

What you get to do every day:

  • Audit existing data systems and deployments and identify errors or areas for improvement.

  • Extract, analyse, troubleshoot, and convert legacy data into a variety of systems.

  • Strategize and plan an entire project, including moving the data and converting content as necessary, while considering risks and potential impacts.

  • Manage the entire data migration process by identifying potential issues and resolving them before they become problems.

  • Analyse the current state of data, suggest the best ways of consolidating, cleansing and validating it and lead on the migration phase.

  • Work with the team to document, automate, test and implement conversion tools.

  • Aid and train consultants on the conversion tools and conversion process.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BE CONSIDERED?

  • Skilled in data analysis and troubleshooting to be able to analyse, understand and convert data.

  • Skilled in Transact SQL

  • 2+ years of experience with SQL Server and ETL processes.

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering, Science, or related field discipline.

  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and converting as well as report template creation.

  • Innovative and proactive approach to problem solving

  • Attention to detail is essential for this role

  • Enjoys documentation and sharing knowledge, to help increase the skills of the whole team.

  • Delivery of high quality work in a timely manner, able to work quickly and accurately under pressure.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Personal commitment to delivering the project in the agreed timeframe.

  • Ability to work in a team, and also confidence to work independently, asking relevant questions when necessary.
