Technical Metallurgist

Hire Resolve is currently seeking a talented Technical Metallurgist to join our client's team in the Mining Industry. The Technical Metallurgist will be responsible for conducting research, developing new processes, and providing technical support to ensure the efficient operation of the mining site.

Responsibilities:

• Support adherence to safety, health, and environmental protocols within the plant.

• Implement technical standards and procedures for efficient plant operations.
• Ensure operational activities meet and maintain technical standards.
• Conduct audits to verify compliance with specifications and parameters, collaborating with plant personnel.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in plant processes.
• Offer ongoing technical assistance to the production team to achieve operational objectives.
• Provide in-depth analysis of process control and plant performance interrelations.
• Coordinate metal accounting, ensuring accuracy in reporting and monitoring metal usage.
• Monitor production performance metrics, analyze data, and identify trends for process optimization.
• Conduct research and analysis to pinpoint areas for production process enhancement and cost reduction.
• Assist in maintaining stable and sustainable plant performance within metallurgical parameters.

Requirements

• B Eng. or BSc. degree in Metallurgy/Chemical Engineering or similar
• Postgraduate qualification will be advantageous
• 5 years or more extensive post-qualification experience in technical management of extractive metallurgy of gold processes or development projects
• Metallurgical process and plant operating skills
• Strong supervisory and leadership qualities
• Strong technical problem-solving skills
• Planning, coordination and prioritizing skills
• Emergency response and crisis management
• Computer literacy
• Report writing skills
• Good written and verbal communication to interact with stakeholders
• Experience with metallurgical smelting of gold and AMD will be advantageous
• Valid driving license code B or EB
