Role Overview:

Our client is seeking an exceptional Wine Tutor who possesses both profound knowledge and an innate passion for wine. The successful candidate will be responsible for educating guests, clients, and staff about the intricate world of wine, guiding them through tastings, and enhancing their overall experience at the estate. This role requires someone with not only a deep understanding of viticulture and oenology but also the ability to communicate complex concepts in an engaging and accessible manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct informative and engaging wine tastings for guests, clients, and staff.
  • Develop and deliver educational sessions on various wine-related topics, including wine production, tasting techniques, and food pairings.
  • Assist in the curation and maintenance of the estates wine collection.
  • Provide personalized wine recommendations to enhance guests dining experiences.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new wine releases, and developments in viticulture and oenology.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and hospitality teams to enhance the estates wine education offerings.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Experience in a wine education or sommelier role.
  • Certification in wine studies (e.g., WSET Level 3 or higher, Court of Master Sommeliers, Cape Wine Academy).
  • In-depth knowledge of South African wines and global wine regions.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with a diverse range of clients and guests.
  • High attention to detail and a passion for delivering exceptional service.
  • Must reside in or near Stellenbosch or be willing to relocate to the area.
