Location: Hybrid Model and can be based at either our Johannesburg Office (Woodmead) or Cape Town Office (Century City).

Term: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract (Renewable Annually)

About the Role:

As an Outsourced Accounting Assistant Manager, you'll be at the forefront of delivering top-notch accounting solutions to a diverse range of moderately sized firms across various sectors. From handling bookkeeping and VAT returns to providing insightful management accounts, you'll have ownership of key tasks that drive success for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage team workflow and oversee the delivery of outsourcing assignments on industry-leading platforms such as Xero, QuickBooks Online, and Sage Line 50.
  • Design and implement efficient processes for each assignment, briefing team members to ensure seamless execution.
  • Prepare and review monthly/quarterly management accounts, providing valuable insights to clients.
  • Review bookkeeping work conducted by junior staff, ensuring accuracy and adherence to best practices.
  • Prepare and review VAT returns, assisting clients with VAT and tax investigations as needed.
  • Provide clients with forecasts and support in the compilation of budgets, offering strategic guidance for financial planning.
  • Develop the team, fostering a culture of growth and excellence, with potential line management responsibilities on the horizon.

Requirements:

  • Qualified CA(SA), ACCA, or CIMA, with a solid foundation in accounting principles and practices.
  • 2-4 years of experience working in an accountancy practice in a similar role such as Management Accountant or Client Accountant.
  • Demonstrable experience leading assignments and reviewing work, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Significant experience in preparing Management Accounts, Bookkeeping, VAT Returns, and Forecasting.
  • Proficiency in Xero, QuickBooks Online, and Sage 50 is essential.
  • Client-facing experience is crucial, with a knack for building strong relationships and delivering exceptional service.
  • Bonus points for candidates with UK GAAP experience – a major PLUS that sets you apart from the crowd
