An opportunity has become available within Investec For Business for a recoveries specialist in Asset Finance. The ideal candidate needs a strong background in recoveries, excellent communication and negotiation skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 
The successful individual must possess good personal communications skills that builds credibility and confidence both inside and outside IFB. The ideal candidate must have natural ability to manage the AF debtor's administration and recovery process. The role also requires ownership of a portfolio of distressed assets, managing recovery, and designing risk management solutions to ensure optimization of the recovery process to ensure losses are minimized. 
The candidate will be responsible for credit risk mitigation ensuring timeous collections of the arrear book and reduce outstanding debtor's book.

To ensure the company policies and procedures are adhered to in respect of handling debtor accounts. To timeously alert Account Executives and Leaders to potential collection problems.

Analyse debtor accounts and identify potential risks, Management of a portfolio of clients including those that have been handed over to legal for Asset finance which involves liaising with the legal practitioners and the preparation of information, and legal letters required in the hand over and ongoing legal process for recoveries clients. 

The candidate will be required to have strong analytical skills and sound initiative to gather and analyse information and trends within the recoveries space to enable better monitoring and more efficient recovery of the Investec for Business debtor's book. This will involve partaking in various recoveries projects on the go.

The candidate is required to perform site visits and travel extensively nation wide to recover repossessed equipment and or surrendered goods. A detailed report on the condition and locations post site visit is then prepared and shared with management for decision making purposes. Where equipment is recovered with the assistance of a sheriff, the candidate will liase with the Sheriff and our appointed attorney for recovery of the goods.

Engage with all stakeholders in a professional manner Negotiate repayment plans and settlement agreements with leadership support Manage daily Debtors queries and ensuring query resolution  Maintaining debtors' records and supporting documentation on Sonic ADR and Surefire Daily / Weekly / Monthly Reporting to management on outstanding debtors  Payment allocations daily by checking bank statements Preparing and sending of all 7 day notice, cancellation or legal letters Complete ownership of portfolio end to end including: Follow ups on returned debit orders by email as well as follow up on payments for legal clientsDaily / Weekly / Monthly Reporting to management on outstanding legal debtorsPerform clients visits to inspect premises and operation for information required on default and or arrearsSite visits to inspect and view equipment and report thereon in terms of condition and locationLiaise with Sheriff/attorney/tracer to assist with the repossession of equipmentEnsure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies

Experience, skills and capability

Proven track record of success in managing and recovering debt. Excellent communication and negotiation skills Ability to gather information from various source Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to sum up client circumstances to report concisely to recoveries leadership Time management Good business verbal and written communication Experience and confidence with dealing with legal practitioners and other stakeholders Ability to collaborate and work effectively with colleagues across a range of disciplines Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practice
