PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To provide a winder specialised service to all shaft operations to ensure that safety and production targets are met.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Grade 12/Std 10 (NQF Level 4) is essential.
Electrical trade Certificate
Relevant 3 -year/N4 Diploma or equivalent in an engineering field
Minimum of 7 years working experience in commissioning, fault finding and repairs on Winders
Completed Impala winder modules will be advantageous.

Risk Assessment
Analogue and Digital Variable speed drives
Winder safety and control philosophies
Hydraulics
Knowledge of head gear, ropes and attachments, shaft & loading arrangement
Winder and associated mechanical equipment.
Fault finding skills.
PLC training on Mitsubishi, CTI, Siemens and Code sys
Computer Literacy
Communication & interpersonal skills
Technical ability


KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
Ensure winder availability by minimizing downtime in order to maintain production levels and safety standards.
Ensure winders are complying with the all the winder related COP's, regulations, and standards.
Revise winder COPs with relevant stakeholders.
Determine the winder specifications together with the relevant consultants and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) about new equipment and ensure compliance during and after installation.
Ensure winders and associated equipment are sustainable (Upgrades and Improvement).
Assist with on-the job training and external training of winder personnel.
Ensure that winders are running safely, reliable, and efficiently.
Conduct winder and shaft technical audits.
Scrutinise level one audit and dynamic test reports and assist where necessary
