Who are we?
Sanlam Life and Savings (SLS) is focused on serving our retail and corporate clients in South Africa and further developing our strategic advantages in the South African market. Sanlam Life and Savings consists of three clusters - Sanlam Corporate, Sanlam Retail Mass and Sanlam Retail Affluent. The Sanlam Life and Savings Office provides strategic direction, coordination and support to the three clusters, as well as performing governance oversight that includes assurance provided by second line of defense functions in SLS, to enable us to meet our business objectives.
What will you do?
We are offering an opportunity to unemployed South African citizen graduates between the ages of 18-35 who are seeking to start their career as a Graduate Junior Business Analyst. It will be a 12-month contract position, allowing the incumbent to gain relevant work experience in the financial services industry. The individual will be exposed to training and gain experience within the Change Portfolio team. Once the 12-month contract is completed, you would have gained experience which will help you to fulfil a career as a Junior Business Analyst.
The successful graduate will:
• Identify, analyze and define business requirements for long term insurance quotations and New Business; Write the Business Requirements Specification (BRS); Prepare and use case specifications supported by appropriate diagrams with the identifications of test conditions and ensure integration of changes into process environment.
• Conduct post implementation reviews to ensure that processes have been successfully implemented, are being adhered to and identify any refinements required.
• Understand the interrelation of processes between different areas of the company and formulate recommendations, where appropriate, for reform and improvement of these process flows.
• Make recommendations for the enhancement or replacement of existing software and/or home-grown solutions / applications used within Sanlam Risk and Savings with modern, practical, cost-effective solutions in order to give Sanlam Risk and Savings a competitive edge.
• Identify opportunities where new technology; digital developments and/or automation can be value adding in Sanlam Risk and Savings.
• Develop and maintain work management and resource planning statistics for departments and seek to continually improve and monitor the integrity of the underlying data.
• User testing.
What will make you successful in this role?
Role Requirements
• Grade 12.
• Degree or Diploma in either: BSc. / B Comm. in Informatics, Information Technology, Software Engineering.
• Unemployed South African citizen (in the age bracket of 18-35 years).
• Not on any other INSETA programme.
• Include proof of relevant qualification.
• Include most recent results OR latest results of above-mentioned.
