The Role

Welcome to our Belgium Campus Internship: General Applications for 3rd year Degree and Diploma StudentsEOH is recruiting Belgium Campus Students to join our dynamic digital transformation Team for a 1-year Internship program. During this time, Interns will be included in the day-to-day operations of the Business Unit they were successfully appointed to. NB - Only students current enrolled by Belgium campus will qualify (you need to be completing your 3rd year in 2023 to attend our internship program in 2024)

Skills and Experience

You will gain practical experience related to the business operations and projects delivered by the business as well as receive knowledge transfer from team members and mentors. During this year, the interns will also attend pre identified soft skills courses that will assist them to grow as future employees in industry. When applying please indicate in which of these areas you wish to specialise: Data Science; ETL (DBA) or Software development.

  Essential Qualifications:

  DATA SCIENCE

Bachelor of Computing or Bachelor of IT - Software Development

Preferred Qualification:

Any tertiary qualification or any certification would be a plus. Data science courses a definite plus. Kaggle, Zindi or similar entry and subsequent leader board improvement A software code repository you can walk us through in Python, R or any other code you enjoy using A public cloud project demonstrating your AI and ML capabilities

  ETL & SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT

Bachelor of Computing or Bachelor of IT - Software Development

Key Accountabilities

KEY AREAS OF PERFORMANCE:

Data Science 

Delivering ML or systems models experience: Any Leading teams: Any Project experience: Any experience working with a team to solve a data-intensive problem. Other experience: How many years have you been writing software code, of any description? Which tech project that you built makes you most proud? Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions. Mine and analyze data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques and business strategies. Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques. Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets. Assemble and compose business-centric processes using off-the-shelf public cloud services. Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences, revenue generation, ad targeting and other business outcomes. Use MLOps frameworks to deliver enterprise-grade predictive and prescriptive analytics solutions, based on multiple model performance assessment techniques, validations and statistically rigorous methodologies. Coordinate with different functional teams , manage features, experiments and model selection processes as part of MLOps delivery projects. Write presentations describing AI and ML project design, methodologies, results and outcomes.

ETL Development (Databases / Reporting)

Junior level experience Understanding of data integration tool (ETL tool) Relational Databases (SQL) Basic SQL skills (Database queries) Basic understanding of dropdown tools/application Managing, supporting and enhancing existing reports that business requires and working towards covering wider reporting requirements. You will be responsible for designing and building end-to-end ETL/data solutions. Extract data from multiple systems, transforming and loading into multiple reporting data warehouses. Support the existing data/ETL Platform, reverse engineering and improving processes. Work with end users and/or analysts on requirements and translate them into technical specification, while driving and implementing industry best practices. Able to design and improve existing ETL framework, and data validation framework. Contribute to the growth and development of the data integration and data management capability to deliver appropriate, reliable and consistent solutions.

Software Development

Assisting the developers with all aspects of software design and coding. Interpreting written business requirements and technical specifications Designing, coding and debugging applications in various software languages within the agreed upon timelines. Perform maintenance programming and correction of identified defects. Prepare unit tests Assist in the review of developed code Investigate, analyse and document reported defects. Responsible for consistently producing quality code and products, in accordance with the prescribed architecture and standards, and implement within the agreed timeframes.

  Infrastructure (Diploma)

Assist in workshop with projects. IT Support (Upgrades or New PC's builds) Network support (Upgrades or installations of Switches / Routers) IT Operational support (Monitor networks / Security / Servers)
