Customer Equipment Engineer Location: Hammarsdale, Durban, South AfricaIndustry: Chemical Manufacturing/Maintenance/Equipment| Experience: 2 years (relevant knowledge re engineering and maintenance of pumps and control monitors)Type: Full-time | Environment: Fast paced, high performance   About the Role Our client, a Global leader in Chemical Manufacturing has a Customer Equipment Engineer position  available in the Sales Division, based in Hammarsdale. Tertiary qualification in Chemistry/Biochemistry/Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, with relevant maintenance experience in chemical manufacturing industries required.   What You’ll Be Doing Technical Resource : Provides Technical Resources as a Subject Matter Expert to support the business Product Knowledge : Knowledge of processes, products, functions, and how they impact operational and front-line performance Relationship Building : Foster relationships and become a trusted advisor to drive project performance Standardize Equipment : Equipment Design and Standardization, aligned to Global Equipment standards. Customer Interaction : Provides Customer Equipment Technical Resources that are strategically aligned with goals & objectives Safety : Facilitates and coordinates HCAS governance of Customer Service Equipment. Perform HAZOP studies Asset Management : Facilitates and coordinates the Asset Management of Customer Service Equipment Training and Development : Ensures that Equipment planning, asset management, and reporting processes are in place Continuous Improvement and Project Management Support : Support Management in identifying, managing and implementing Continuous Improvements and Projects   What You’ll Need National Diploma/Degree or equivalent in Chemistry/ Biochemistry / Microbiology / Metallurgy / Chemical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering Minimum 2 - 3 years knowledge of Chemical manufacturing markets  Knowledge of the engineering or maintenance of various pumps and control monitors associated with industrial chemical feed systems Understand materials of construction/compatibility of materials Familiar and able to lead a HAZOP study Willingness to travel extensively Drivers license MS Office Suite   What’s In It for You Basic Salary : R25 000 pm (negotiable based on experience and the right skills set) Travel Allowance : This allowance is salary band based (approximately R14 000 pm) Cell Phone allowance: R450 pm 3G / Broadband allowance: R428 pm 13th Cheque / Discretionary Performance Bonus equal to the basic salary Medical Aid: Company to contribute 50% of the Discovery Essential Saver plan and employee contributes 50% - (assuming that this will cover the member, spouse and up to 3 kids) Medical Aid Gap Cover – of R373 pm (being company cost to take care of associates medical costs in cases where the cost for in-hospital procedures or outpatient treatment exceeds the base medical aid rate) Provident fund: Company to contribute 7.5% of basic salary and employee is required to contribute a minimum of 7.5%. Education Assistance Costs for approved Tertiary Education. This covers tuition fees and the cost of books only. The employee also qualifies for study leave as per company policy. Tertiary Education Costs for dependents for approved studies for the duration of their study period. This covers tuition and books only. The following benefits are paid on the associates’ behalf by the company, as part of the total cost to company costs. Group Life Cover – this covers benefits in the event of death will be 3X annual basic salary and for associates with no dependents as defined) and 6X annual basic salary (for associates with dependents as defined). Included as part of the Group Life Cover is an automatic Family Protector (i.e. Family Funeral Cover and Education Cover) Income Protection – covers the associate for 75% of basic salary in the event of medical boarding / loss of income.
