Our client is searching for a Senior BI Developer with strong technical skills and business acumen to join our team. The ideal candidate should be proficient in data analysis, reporting, and visualization, with a focus on the Microsoft Cloud BI Platform. This role requires excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. Location: Hybrid 2 Days in Office at Sandton Johannesburg Department: Data and Analytics   Key Responsibilities Analyze business data to provide actionable insights that drive decision-making. Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards. Write complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis. Work with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Data Factory to manage and transform data. Develop and optimize data models for reporting and analytics. Utilize Power BI Report Builder to create paginated reports. Implement and manage Data Lake/Delta Lake solutions. Collaborate with data engineers and business stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and integrity. Leverage DevOps for version control and deployment of BI solutions. Perform predictive analytics using Python to generate data-driven forecasts. Work with Databricks to process and analyze large datasets. (Preferred) Apply Azure Machine Learning for advanced analytics and AI-driven insights. Required Skills & Qualifications Technical Skills: Strong experience with Microsoft Cloud BI Platform. Proficiency in SQL for querying and data manipulation. Advanced skills in Power BI, including DAX and Power Query (M language). Experience with Power BI Report Builder. Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Data Factory, and Synapse Analytics. Working knowledge of Data Lake / Delta Lake architecture. Familiarity with DevOps practices for data projects. Competency in Python for predictive analytics. Experience with Databricks for big data processing. (Plus) Exposure to Azure Machine Learning. Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Good business acumen to understand and interpret business needs. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Proactive attitude, willingness to assist where needed, and adaptability to dynamic work environments. Education & Experience Degree, diploma, or industry certification in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related field. Hands-on experience with Microsoft BI tools and data platforms.
