Job Overview

The Barman is responsible for providing a refined and memorable beverage experience that complements the fine dining service. This role requires exceptional product knowledge, precision in preparation, and a polished, engaging manner with guests. The Barman will craft classic and signature cocktails, recommend wine pairings, and ensure that the bar area operates smoothly, efficiently, and in line with the restaurant's high standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with consistency, accuracy, and attention to presentation.
  • Maintain an elegant and orderly bar environment, ensuring cleanliness and full stock at all times.
  • Create signature cocktails and contribute to seasonal beverage menu development.
  • Follow fine dining service protocols — ensuring discreet, attentive, and professional guest interactions.
  • Manage bar stock, inventory, and daily requisitions to prevent shortages or overstocking.
  • Ensure all beverages are served in accordance with responsible service of alcohol regulations.
  • Coordinate smoothly with servers and kitchen teams to ensure timely service.
  • Uphold all hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards as per restaurant and legal requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2–3 years' experience as a Barman or Mixologist in a fine dining or luxury hospitality environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of spirits, wines, liqueurs, and cocktail preparation techniques.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Impeccable grooming and professional presentation.
  • Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining a calm and polished demeanor.
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol certification (or equivalent).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: R6 000,00 - R8 000,00 per month
