Job Purpose

The Business Analyst is responsible for analysing business processes, gathering requirements, and supporting the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of business applications. The role supports the Senior Business Analyst in documenting workflows, performing data analysis, testing new functionalities, and ensuring that system enhancements align with institutional goals and user needs.

Duties & Responsibilities 

Business Requirements Analysis

  • Elicit and document business and system requirements
  • Conduct user interviews, process mapping, document functional specifications and validation of requirements with stakeholders.

Systems Testing and Implementation Support

  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and implementation of new system functionalities.
  • Prepare test scripts, document results, and support system rollouts in collaboration with IT and business users

User Support and Training

  • Provide user support and assist in delivering training
  • Develop training materials, deliver user sessions, and act as first-line support for system queries

Data and Reporting Analysis

  • Assist in data extraction and report preparation
  • Generate and validate reports to support business decisions and compliance

Continuous Improvement and Documentation

  • Identify opportunities for process and system improvements
  • Review workflows, recommend enhancements, and maintain procedural documentation

Qualifications 

  • NQF Level 6 qualification in Information Systems / Business Analysis / Information Technology
  • NQF Level 7 qualification in Information Technology or related field; Certification in Business Analysis (BABOK/CBAP) - Advantageous

Experience
  • 1–2 years' experience in business analysis or systems support
  • Experience working with student management or ERP systems within an educational environment - Advantageous
