About the role:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced professional to join our Platform Engineering team. The ideal candidate will be a critical part of our mission to ensure system reliability, operational efficiency, and a robust security posture. This hybrid role is responsible for coordinating our infrastructure's governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) efforts, while also owning and improving the company's incident and change management processes. It requires a strong technical background and the ability to work collaboratively across engineering and GRC teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Incident Response & Coordination: Act as the primary coordinator for the end-to-end incident management lifecycle, from initial detection and triage to post-incident review and resolution.
- Process Improvement: Continuously gather feedback from engineering teams and stakeholders to refine and enhance our policies and processes, ensuring they are efficient, scalable, and aligned with business goals.
- Post-Incident Analysis: Lead and conduct thorough post-incident reviews to identify root causes, document key findings, and develop actionable recommendations to prevent future occurrences.
- GRC Program Execution: Partner with the Lead, Infrastructure GRC to execute the GRC program for the infrastructure teams. This includes supporting the development of policies, standards, and procedures.
- Audit and Compliance Readiness: Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external auditors, providing necessary documentation and context during audits related to the Infrastructure team.
- Automation: Identify opportunities for automation within both the incident management and GRC workflows to improve response times, reduce manual effort, and increase overall productivity.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Site Reliability Engineers (SREs), and other engineering teams to support tooling improvements and implement best practices for incident prevention and GRC compliance.
- Change Management: Help manage the change management process for the platform and infrastructure teams, ensuring changes are properly documented, reviewed, and approved to minimize risk and prevent incidents.
Required Skills:
- Experience:
- Demonstrable experience in a technical role with a focus on incident management, SRE, or a related field.
- Experience in coordinating and leading incident response efforts.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with basic automation concepts and tools.
- Practical experience with scripting languages, particularly Python is a plus.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
