Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Tech Lead Java Developer to lead software development initiatives focusing on Middleware or Application development. The ideal candidate will guide the design, architecture, and development of scalable applications, mentor team members, and ensure delivery excellence in a financial services environment.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead Java development projects as Tech Lead, focusing on Middleware or Application development.
  • Develop and maintain web applications using HTML, JavaScript, Angular, and Material, integrating with JPA and Hibernate.
  • Design and implement solutions using Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Data JPA, and Spring Data MongoDB.
  • Work with JMS and Messaging technologies including IBM MQ, AWS SQS, and Amazon MQ.
  • Handle XML and JSON data formats and develop REST and SOAP web services.
  • Read UML diagrams and actively participate in design and architecture sessions.
  • Apply development design patterns and object-oriented analysis, design, and development skills.
  • Follow agile methodologies and lead agile practices within the team.
  • Work with MongoDB, NoSQL, and relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL).
  • Manage builds using Gradle, version control using GIT/GitLab, and implement CI/CD pipelines using Docker, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
  • Write and maintain unit and integration tests using JUnit, Mockito, and Cucumber.
  • Implement Spring Security and OAuth2 authentication.
  • Monitor applications using DataDog, Micrometer, Prometheus, and Grafana dashboards.
  • Integrate LDAP/Active Directory for security.
  • Perform database migrations using MongoCK and Flyway.
  • Develop and maintain microservices architecture, including Kubernetes and Camel-K.
  • Contribute to test automation and API testing using Postman, Insomnia, or SoapUI.
  • Provide technical mentorship and leadership to junior and mid-level developers.
Desired Experience & Qualification
  • Relevant IT degree or diploma.
  • 10+ years of professional experience, including hands-on experience with Spring Boot, messaging queues, and AWS.
  • 2-4 years of software development experience in a financial services environment.
  • 3+ years of Tech Lead experience managing teams or projects.
  • Experience in investment environments is advantageous.
  • Strong experience integrating different applications and technologies.
  • Knowledge of the FICA Act and CDD-related systems is an added advantage.
