Are you a motivated and technically driven Junior Project Engineer looking to grow your career in a dynamic projects environment? We are seeking an enthusiastic engineering professional with
2 to 5 years' experience
to support the successful planning, execution, and delivery of multidisciplinary projects within the mechanical, electrical, civil/structural, and electro-mechanical fields.

In this role, you will work closely with the Project Manager and cross-functional teams to ensure all projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to required standards.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Control

• Assist with project execution plans, schedules, and resource planning.
• Review engineering drawings, P&IDs, technical documents, and work packages.
• Track progress against schedule, budget, and quality targets and report deviations.
• Prepare professional project reports and ensure compliance with approved scopes and designs.

Construction Supervision

• Oversee site activities across mechanical, electrical, and millwright disciplines.
• Manage subcontractors and conduct daily site inspections.
• Maintain accurate construction records and proactively resolve technical issues.
• Ensure adherence to contractual requirements and standards.

Process Safety & Compliance

• Enforce company and client SHEQ requirements and promote a proactive safety culture.
• Participate in HAZOPs, safety reviews, and incident investigations.

Commissioning & Handover

• Support pre-commissioning and commissioning tasks, functional testing, and documentation.
• Assist with punch-list management and final handover to operations.

Stakeholder & Team Coordination

• Liaise with engineering, procurement, finance, quality, operations, and SHE teams.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to site personnel and maintain strong professional communication.

Regulatory & Standards Compliance

• Apply knowledge of OHS Act, ISO 9001/45001, NEMA, TNPA, municipal bylaws.
• Interpret and apply relevant SANS, NFPA, API, and ASME standards across project phases.

Minimum Qualifications

• BTech/BEng in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering
• OR
  N6 with strong supervisory/project management experience
• 2–5 years
  experience in project engineering or construction supervision (petrochemical/process plant experience beneficial)
• Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and technical documents
• Competent in Microsoft Office and project management tools
• Solid understanding of project and construction management principles
