We have drafted a unique last-mile accelerator program for ambitious top performers that want to kickstart their career in data engineering and other pathways.

About the Data Engineering Journey

In partnership with CAPACITI, we have created a new program for which we are currently looking for top performing for a 12-month, full-time apprenticeship enabling engineering talents to kickstart an international career in data engineering in our broad network of local and international partners.

  • Month 1-6
    : Intensive training in both technical and soft skills - on-site in our hubs in Johannesburg and Cape Town
  • Month 7-12
    : On-the-job training with a vetted host partner (both local and international)
  • Year 2
    : Permanent employment facilitated through Project Y - focus on international employers

Who We're Looking For

You should ideally have the following technical skills:

  • Basic proficiency in SQL & NoSQL
  • Distributed pipelines (Spark, Kafka)
  • Data warehousing
  • Familiarity with APIs and building simple integrations
  • Basic understanding of statistics
  • Familiarity with Git, code reviews, and deployments

Other Requirements

  • Based in Cape Town or Johannesburg
  • Available full-time and on-site, starting from November 2025
  • Degree or diploma in Software Development, Computer Science, or a Data role
  • Highly Fluent in English
  • Eager, highly curious, great communication skills and willing to go the extra mile
