We are seeking 6 x highly skilled and certified Senior Microsoft Engineers to join our dynamic IT team for an exciting project kicking off in January 2025. Based in Johannesburg, South Africa, this role focuses on managing and optimizing Microsoft ecosystems, including Azure migrations, ensuring seamless endpoint security, device management, and cloud productivity solutions. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the administration and optimization of Microsoft Office 365 (O365) environments, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive, to enhance collaboration and productivity across the organization.
- Design, implement, and manage Microsoft Intune for mobile device management (MDM) and mobile application management (MAM), ensuring compliance with security policies and efficient deployment of applications.
- Oversee Endpoint Management strategies using Microsoft Endpoint Manager (MEM), including configuration, patching, and troubleshooting for Windows, iOS, Android, and macOS devices.
- Plan and execute Azure migrations, including assessing on-premises workloads, designing hybrid cloud architectures, and migrating applications, data, and infrastructure to Azure using tools like Azure Migrate, Azure Site Recovery, and Azure Database Migration Service.
- Conduct regular audits, performance tuning, security assessments, and post-migration optimizations to mitigate risks and maintain high availability of Microsoft services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Microsoft solutions with existing infrastructure, including Azure Active Directory (AAD) for identity and access management during migrations.
- Provide expert-level support for escalations, incident resolution, and root cause analysis in O365, Intune, Endpoint, and Azure environments.
- Develop and document best practices, policies, and procedures for endpoint security, management, and Azure migrations, aligning with industry standards like ISO 27001 or NIST.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge-sharing sessions on Microsoft technologies, including Azure best practices.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- 5-10 years of hands-on experience in managing Microsoft O365, Intune, Endpoint Management solutions, and Azure migrations in enterprise environments.
- Active Microsoft certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert (mandatory; please specify in your application).
- Deep expertise in Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM), Intune autopilot, co-management, conditional access policies, and Azure migration tools (e.g., Azure Migrate, Azure Hybrid Benefit).
- Proven experience leading Azure migrations, including lift-and-shift, refactor, or rearchitect strategies for VMs, databases (SQL Server to Azure SQL), and Active Directory hybrid setups.
- Strong knowledge of Azure AD, hybrid environments, integration with on-premises Active Directory, and migration-related services like Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Networking, and Storage.
- Familiarity with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or ARM templates for O365, Intune, and Azure tasks.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex troubleshooting in high-stakes scenarios, including migration downtimes and data integrity issues.
- Strong communication skills for stakeholder interactions, including technical documentation, migration plans, and presentations.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with advanced Azure services such as Azure Virtual Desktop, Azure Sentinel for security monitoring, or Azure Arc for hybrid management.
- Prior experience in project-based roles, with a focus on large-scale migrations or upgrades in Microsoft ecosystems.
