Role Purpose

The purpose of the Client Liaison Officer is to provide responsive, professional service to clients, creating a positive client experience and representing the Momentum Securities brand. The role also includes supporting internal capabilities in their efforts to service client needs both centrally and regionally, and new responsibilities in LinkedIn marketing to promote model portfolios and generate client leads.

Requirements

  • Matric (compulsory)

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Commerce (NQF level 7) preferred

  • 5–7 years' experience in a similar role within the financial services industry (Stockbroking experience will be an advantage).

  • Working knowledge of FICA processes and mandate handling.

  • Investment service environment experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of client service principles and practices.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Windows, Word, Excel).

  • Experience with LinkedIn marketing or social media client engagement will be an advantage.

Duties & Responsibilities

Administration Support:

  • Ensure all documentation requirements for client transactions meet regulatory standards.

  • Monitor, track, and update clients on all active queries until resolution.

  • Deliver against effective processes within agreed service timelines.

  • Proactively send proxies, letters, presentations, and reports to portfolio managers and dealers.

  • Process invoices and support securities-based lending tasks, including applications, background checks, and approvals.

Client Support and Relationship Management:

  • Efficient and satisfactory resolution of client requests and queries.

  • Accurate and timely processing of client instructions meeting service-level standards.

  • Manage reputational and financial risks through accurate client interaction.

  • Maintain client confidentiality at all times.

  • Maintain strong working relationships with existing and potential clients.

  • Identify opportunities to enhance client engagement and retention.

  • Recommend improvements that enhance the client experience and operational efficiency.

Internal Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Provide daily updates on work status and priorities to internal stakeholders.

  • Implement action items from operational meetings effectively.

  • Ensure adherence to legislative and compliance processes.

Portfolio Management Support:

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to Portfolio Managers and Dealers.

  • Prepare proposals and presentations aligned with strategic goals.

  • Manage local corporate actions and support with specialised product information like Structured Notes.

  • Manage fee and brokerage compliance, currency trades, and fund transfers.

  • Train broker offices on updated processes and documentation.

Institutional and Corporate Client Support:

  • Assist Portfolio Managers and Dealers with reporting and daily operations.

  • Ensure compliance with service-level agreements related to brokerage and fee structures.

  • LinkedIn Marketing and Client Acquisition

  • Market the Portfolio Manager's model portfolio through LinkedIn to raise brand and product visibility.

  • Create engaging and compliant LinkedIn content and campaigns to promote offerings.

  • Generate and nurture leads through LinkedIn activity, scheduling follow-up appointments for Portfolio Managers.

  • Track and report on LinkedIn campaign effectiveness and conversion rates.

  • Collaborate closely with marketing and compliance teams to ensure content accuracy and brand alignment.
