DUTIES:

  • Take ownership and responsibility for the detailed electrical design and improvement of components and sub-assemblies on the Articulated Dump Truck, Rockscalers, Forestry and all Customised products. typical work would include.
  • Generate and present electrical design concepts and preliminary cost estimates
  • Apply a systematic approach to evaluate and compare different electrical design options.
  • Generate accurate electrical schematic drawings.
  • Generate accurate 3D cad models, 2D harness drawings and assembly drawings.
  • To produce a design file including all design calculations, correspondence and communication used to produce the detailed design.
  • Assist with the manufacture of new customised machines under development
  • Perform necessary engineering changes to assist & improve material preparation & fabrication processes.
  • Provide technical support for the manufacturing facility & other internal and external customers.
  • Assist cross functional teams with electrical technical assistance.
  • Perform sign off activities in accordance with the sign off procedure.
  • Be responsible to keep record of own daily time utilisation.
  • Assisting in managing drafting resources to finalise the electrical design on new machine models.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • B.Eng /B-tech (Electrical / Mechatronics) or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • Applicants MUST have at least 2 years' post qualification experience in designing an electrical system in either the automotive, military, agricultural or construction equipment industry
  • Previous work experience at Bell Equipment will be an added advantage.
  • Working knowledge of Autocad, Creo, Corel draw, Vesys or Capital Essentials
  • Working knowledge of 2D harness drawings and manufacturing of an electrical harness.
  • Knowledge of bills of material will be an added advantage.
  • Good understanding of engineering change control processes.
  • Good communication skills & ability to interact with other engineering teams.
  • Knowledge of Bell product range will be an added advantage.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Good Technical analysis skills and ability to interpret and apply engineering principles to a practical and cost-effective solution.
  • The skill and ability to conceptualise ideas based on design philosophies and project guidelines.
  • A logical approach to fault finding principles and attention to detail.
  • A valid driver's licence.
