Role Overview

The Senior Solutions Architect will be responsible for
designing and delivering Core Banking solutions
within a leading South African banking environment. The role requires
hands-on expertise in Finacle Core Banking
, deep knowledge of
integration across legacy and modern platforms

Core Banking transformation projects
.

This is an
onshore role
, requiring close collaboration with stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and delivery teams within South Africa.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of Core Banking solutions with emphasis on Finacle.
  • Develop integration strategies across legacy systems and modern digital platforms.
  • Ensure scalability, performance, and compliance with South African banking regulations.
  • Drive modernization initiatives from legacy Core Banking systems to Finacle.
  • Architect APIs, microservices, and middleware solutions for seamless integration.
  • Align with enterprise architecture standards and digital transformation roadmaps.
  • Partner with business and technology teams in South Africa to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Present architectural designs and roadmaps to senior stakeholders and regulators.
  • Ensure solutions adhere to
    South African Reserve Bank (SARB)
    and
    FSCA
    compliance frameworks.
  • Provide architectural oversight during implementation and testing phases.
  • Guide local development teams on best practices in Core Banking solution design.
  • Mentor junior architects and engineers.

Required Experience

  • 10+ years
    in IT solution architecture, with at least
    5+ years in Core Banking
    .
  • Proven experience with
    Finacle Core Banking implementations
    in South Africa or similar regulated markets.
  • Strong background in
    Core Banking integrations
    (legacy systems, SOA, APIs, microservices).
  • Hands-on involvement in
    large-scale banking transformation projects
    .
  • Familiarity with
    South African banking regulations and compliance frameworks
    .
  • Experience working with
    local and global delivery teams
    .

Mandatory Skills

  • Core Banking Expertise
    : Finacle (mandatory).
  • Integration Design
    : APIs, ESB, microservices, middleware, cloud-native integration.
  • Architecture Frameworks
    : TOGAF, Zachman, or equivalent.
  • Technology Stack
    : Java/J2EE, Oracle DB, Web Services, Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP).
  • Banking Domain Knowledge
    : Retail banking, payments, deposits, lending, regulatory compliance.
  • Soft Skills
    : Strong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership abilities.
