We are now seeking an exceptional Commercial Director to lead our commercial strategy and accelerate sustainable growth across our portfolio.

The Role

Reporting to the Managing Director and serving as a key member of the executive leadership team, the Commercial Director will have full accountability for revenue growth, market execution and commercial performance across all channels.

This role requires a strategic, commercially astute leader with the ability to translate vision into execution, inspire high-performing teams, and build long-term value for the business and its brand partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and deliver the company's end-to-end commercial strategy across route-to-market, sales, trade marketing and customer partnerships
  • Drive profitable revenue growth, value share expansion and channel performance across the informal, on- and off-trade
  • Lead and develop a high-performing national sales and commercial team
  • Strengthen relationships with key customers, distributors and strategic partners
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, supply chain and finance to ensure integrated planning and execution
  • Lead commercial forecasting, budgeting and performance management
  • Identify new growth opportunities, innovation pathways, and portfolio optimisation opportunities

About You

  • Senior commercial leader with proven experience in FMCG, preferably within spirits, alcohol or beverages
  • Strong track record of delivering sustained revenue growth and market share gains
  • Deep understanding of the South African FMCG and liquor regulatory environment
  • Highly strategic thinker with strong analytical and financial acumen
  • Inspirational leader with the ability to build capability, accountability, and a performance-driven culture
  • Comfortable operating at board and shareholder level
