Role Description

The Disaster Recovery Consultant is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing disaster recovery (DR) strategies to ensure business continuity. Key tasks include performing risk assessments, creating and testing DR plans, and facilitating disaster recovery simulations. The consultant will collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to identify potential vulnerabilities and establish preventive measures. This is a hybrid contract role based in Pretoria, with flexibility for some remote work.

Qualifications

  • Honours degree or Post Graduate Diploma (NQF 8) or higher in Information Technology / Computer Science
  • Proficiency in Disaster Recovery Planning, Risk Assessments, and Business Continuity strategies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Technical expertise with backup systems, data recovery tools, and IT infrastructure
  • Experience with project management and coordinating cross-functional teams
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a hybrid work environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred
  • Familiarity with compliance standards and certifications is an advantage
