About the Role

D&B Industrial is seeking a qualified and motivated NACE Level 1 or Level 2 Coating Inspector to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting inspections, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and maintaining the highest levels of quality on all coating and corrosion protection projects.

This role requires regular travel between Richards Bay and Durban, with flexibility to work at various project sites as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform coating inspections in accordance with NACE and project specifications.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain detailed inspection reports and quality documentation.
  • Verify surface preparation, environmental conditions, coating application, and curing processes.
  • Identify and report any non-conformances or deviations from standards.
  • Ensure all health, safety, and environmental procedures are followed on-site.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and contractors.
  • Assist in developing and implementing quality control procedures.
  • Support audits and inspections by clients or third-party quality representatives.

Minimum Requirements

  • NACE Level 1 or Level 2 Coating Inspector certification (valid and recognized).
  • Proven experience in industrial coating inspection (preferably in oil, gas, marine, or heavy industrial environments).
  • Strong understanding of coating materials, application methods, and surface preparation standards.
  • Valid driver's license and own reliable transport.
  • Willingness and ability to travel between Durban and Richards Bay as required.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills (verbal and written).
  • Attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Physically fit to work in field environments and elevated structures when required.
