Candidate Inspector

**Purpose**:
To administer compulsory specifications and
technical regulations on behalf of the Minister of
Trade, Industry and Competition by monitoring
compliance through inspections and/or
evaluations.

**KPA’s/ Key outputs**:

- Monitor Compliance with Compulsory
Specifications and Technical Regulations
- Appropriate sanctions for noncompliance
- Process Applications for Letters of
Authority, Sales Permits and Certificates
NRCS Quality Management System
(QMS)
- Stakeholder relationships
- NRCS Committees

**Requirements / Experience**
- National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Electrical
Engineering
- Must be willing to travel
- Will be required to undergo training for a
period of 18 - 24 months

**Knowledge and Skills**:

- Sound knowledge of the NRCS Act;
- Sound knowledge of the Legal Metrology act;
- Sound knowledge of the legislation and
regulations related to area of specialty which
may include but is not limited to the
- Promotion of Administrative Justice Act,
Customs Excise Act, Police Act, PFMA,
PAJA, SANS, ISO, Consumer Protection
Act, Legal Metrology Act, Occupational
Health and Safety Act, National Road Traffic
Act,
- Sound knowledge of risk assessments;
- Knowledge of Quality Management systems;
- Knowledge of inspection methods and
processes;
- Knowledge of evaluation
methods and processes
