Job Description: Operations Support Learnership – Auto & Intermodal

Role Purpose

This is a learnership position designed to provide practical workplace experience within both the Auto and Intermodal divisions.

The learner will gain hands-on exposure to stock management, warehouse systems, and transport operations.

Successful learners may be considered for absorption into a permanent role at the end of the learnership programme, based on performance and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Auto Division – Systems & Stock Management

  • Assist with scanning and verification of stock to ensure that system quantities match physical stock.
  • Learn to operate Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to support accurate inventory control.
  • Participate in stock counts, cycle counts, and investigations of stock variances.
  • Use MS Office for basic reporting and documentation.
  • Support the use of handheld scanners, including scanning and printing of barcode labels.

2. Intermodal Division – Transport & Cargo Operations

  • Gain an understanding of transport operations to help strengthen the new Intermodal team.
  • Learn about key transport regulations, including:
  • Remover in Bond (RIB)
  • Goods in Transit (GIT) insurance
  • Assist in coordinating the movement of containerised cargo.
  • Learn the different types of containers and their handling requirements.
  • Gain exposure to operations within ports and harbours, including scheduling, documentation, and cargo flow processes.

Minimum Requirements

  • Basic computer literacy, with familiarity in MS Office.
  • Interest in warehouse, logistics, or transport operations.
  • Willingness to learn and participate fully in the training programme.
  • Ability to work in an operational, fast-paced environment.
