Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Engineer based in the City of Cape Town. The successful candidate will oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation systems in water and wastewater treatment facilities. Day-to-day tasks include troubleshooting complex systems, developing process control systems, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams for efficient solutions, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. The role also involves managing the commissioning of systems, identifying and resolving operational issues, and optimizing performance.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Electrical, Electronic and Automation Engineering applications
- Experience with Siemens Simatic controllers and TIA portal for industrial automation
- Expertise in Process Control and Instrumentation methodologies
- Strong skills in Troubleshooting and problem resolution
- Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment systems or related industries is an advantage
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or a related field
- Previous experience in project design, implementation, and maintenance
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
- Familiarity with ECSA professional standards is advantageous
- Excellent analytical, technical, and communication skills
