Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) to oversee the financial operations, reporting, and compliance of a U.S.-based company. This is a remote, full-time position operating on U.S. hours. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical accounting expertise with analytical insight to drive financial performance and ensure accurate, timely reporting across entities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead month-end closing, management reporting, and financial statement preparation in accordance with U.S. GAAP or IFRS.
  • Manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger, reconciliations, AP/AR, and payroll oversight.
  • Develop budgets, forecasts, and cash flow models to support management decisions.
  • Maintain robust internal controls and ensure compliance with financial policies and U.S. accounting standards.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.
  • Prepare tax schedules, reconcile accounts, and assist with corporate tax compliance.
  • Provide variance analysis and financial insights to management for strategic planning.
  • Oversee accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Xero) and implement process improvements.
  • Supervise and support finance or bookkeeping staff where applicable.
Qualifications & Experience
  • CA(SA) designation (Chartered Accountant) or equivalent CPA/ACCA qualification.
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of progressive accounting experience, including exposure to U.S. or international reporting.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and multi-entity consolidations.
  • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online, Xero, or NetSuite.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines while working remotely and independently.
