You will be responsible for the maintenance of all current electrical installations and the repairs of any breakdowns. You will need to be responsible, alert and cautious while enjoying a hands on approach. Effective communication with the team will be required.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components.
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
    Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes of practice.
  • Advise the Facilities Manager on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous and the availability of spares.  
    Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes of practice and by-laws.  
    Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Prepare sketches or follow electrical drawings to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes of practice and by-laws.  
  • Conduct monthly inspections on all portable equipment and keep the relevant documentation up to date.  
  • Administer monthly earth leakage tests on all earth leakages in the plant and in the offices and keep the relevant documentation up to date.  
  • Administer generator testing  
  • Manage on-site Maintenance team.  
  • Contractor Management  
  • Assisting with budget preparation.  


Minimum Requirements
  • A tertiary qualification in a related field.
  • A minimum of 4 years experience in the electrical trade.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Experience with Commecial/Industrial building maintenance is desired.
  • A Trade Test Certification as an Electrician (Advantegous)
  • Wiremans license (advantegous).
