About Lifting Dreams

Lifting Dreams NPC is a registered non-profit company uplifting South African communities through education. Since 2018, we've hosted over 3,000 classes, served 45,000 meals, and helped over 3,300 learners improve their academic performance.

Through our academic enrichment programme, we focus on mathematics and English, combining structured teaching with mentorship and nutrition. Our Soweto campus serves around 50 learners in Grades R– will include grade 5), laying the foundation for future academic success. This campus has been operational in Soweto since 2018 and makes use of the Grace Bible Church facilities (past three years).

As a social franchise holder of the Seriously Addictive Mathematics (S.A.M.) Programme, Lifting Dreams provides world-class, individualised maths teaching based on the acclaimed Singapore Math methodology.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an education enthusiast with strong leadership and teaching ability to lead our Soweto campus.

The Centre Manager will play a dual role:

• Teaching: Delivering lessons using the S.A.M. methodology.
• Leadership: Overseeing campus operations, coordinating tutors, ensuring quality of teaching, and maintaining a safe, engaging, and motivating learning environment.

This is an opportunity to make a measurable difference in the lives of young learners while gaining experience in education management and community upliftment.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

• Facilitate weekly S.A.M. mathematics sessions with learners (Grades R–4).
• Conduct learner assessments and monitor progress using the S.A.M. system.
• Support and mentor tutors to ensure quality and consistency in teaching.
• Foster a nurturing environment that builds learner confidence and curiosity.

Centre Administration

• Manage attendance records, timetables, and learner progress tracking.
• Coordinate campus logistics (classroom setup, worksheets, stationery, food programme, etc.).
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians, tutors, and the head office.
• Prepare weekly or monthly reports on attendance and learner outcomes.

Leadership & Community Engagement

• Lead and motivate the tutor team.
• Represent Lifting Dreams in the local community.
• Uphold the organisation's values and promote its mission to #LiftSouthAfrica.

Requirements

• Passion for making South Africa a better and brighter place for all.
• Passion for mathematics and education.
• Matric certificate (Maths on higher grade until matric preferred).
• Teaching experience preferred (formal or informal).
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Confident classroom presence and ability to work with children.
• Leadership ability and a heart for community upliftment.
