Orthopaedic Receptionist & Practice Coordinator

Location: Milnerton Mediclinic, Cape Town

Practice: Orthopaedic Practice

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 16:30

Salary: R10,000 – R16,000 per month (depending on experience)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organised and experienced Orthopaedic Receptionist & Practice Coordinator to join our busy orthopaedic clinic in Milnerton Mediclinic. This exciting opportunity involves managing the front desk operations, serving as the first point of contact for our valued patients, and ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the practice. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to providing exceptional patient care and contributing to a positive practice environment.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Interaction: Greet and assist patients with the utmost professionalism and empathy, ensuring a positive experience from their arrival to departure.

Appointment Management: Efficiently schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments, optimising the practitioner's diary.

Billing & Administration: Accurately process medical aid claims, handle private billing, and maintain meticulous patient records, adhering to all privacy regulations.

Communication: Manage all incoming calls, emails, and other inquiries, providing clear, concise, and helpful information and assistance.

Front Desk Operations: Maintain a tidy and organised reception area, and assist with various general administrative tasks as required to support the practice.

Requirements

Experience: Proven experience in medical reception or administrative roles is essential, with strong knowledge of medical billing processes.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in practice management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). The successful candidate must be tech-savvy and able to learn new systems quickly.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are paramount, coupled with professional and courteous telephone etiquette.

Attributes: We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented individual who can manage multiple tasks effectively and work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred: Previous experience working within an orthopaedic or specialist medical practice will be a distinct advantage.
