Introduction

A well-established company in the engineering and industrial sector is seeking a highly organised Estimator / Costing Clerk to join their team. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative ability, excellent attention to detail, and experience working with technical or engineered products.

You will be responsible for preparing accurate costings, quotations, and supporting documentation for the sales and operations teams. This role requires someone who is analytical, structured, and confident working with technical information.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Compile costings, estimates, and quotations for engineered and industrial products
  • Source and compare supplier pricing
  • Prepare job files, costing sheets, and supporting documentation
  • Assist sales with technical information when preparing quotes
  • Ensure all costing data is accurate, up to date, and captured correctly
  • Maintain strong communication with suppliers and internal teams
  • Administrative duties related to pricing, materials, and project costing
  • Track imports and shipments
  • Create shipping schedules
  • Submit claims
Desired Experience & Qualification

Requirements

  • Technical or engineering industry experience essential
  • Previous costing, estimating, or admin experience (2+ years an advantage)
  • Strong numerical ability and high attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • Able to interpret basic technical information / product specs
  • Computer literate (Excel, pricing sheets, ERP systems advantageous)
  • Confident communicator with a proactive approach
  • Must have experience dealing with imports (Germany & China)
