Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Roads Construction Mechanic located in Cape Town. The role involves performing maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repairs on heavy construction equipment used in road construction and rehabilitation projects. Key responsibilities include diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues, conducting effective equipment inspections, and ensuring machinery is in optimal working condition. The candidate will also play an essential role in maintaining the operational efficiency of the fleet.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Maintenance, Preventive Maintenance, and Maintenance & Repair tasks for construction equipment
  • Strong experience working with and maintaining roads construction plant.
  • Skills in Troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues efficiently
  • Ability to adhere to safety practices and operational standards
  • Familiarity with road construction environments is an advantage
  • Relevant technical certifications or training in mechanical or automotive engineering is beneficial
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
