Cold Chain Manager – Isando (Warehouse)

Location:
Isando, Gauteng

Overview:

We are seeking a reliable, task-oriented, and passionate Cold Chain Manager
to oversee operations in a freezer warehouse environment. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in cold conditions (-20°C to -25°C), highly organized, and capable of managing staff and processes efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage inbound, outbound, and returns processes in the freezer warehouse.
  • Open the warehouse daily at 05:00 and oversee morning loading of frozen stock.
  • Monitor freezer and fridge temperatures 24/7; escalate and arrange maintenance when required.
  • Conduct daily stock counts, manage discrepancies, and ensure proper stock rotation.
  • Brief and supervise pickers to ensure accurate, timeous picking and minimal damages.
  • Process non-conformance documentation for damaged, incorrect, or short-delivered stock.
  • Ensure timely putaways, replenishments, and returns processing.
  • Maintain daily housekeeping and Health & Safety compliance.
  • Manage timekeeping, leave approval, and PPE record-keeping for freezer staff.
  • Assist with monthly stock take and support operational tasks as needed.

Requirements:

  • Matric; Diploma or Degree in Logistics/Supply Chain Management is advantageous.
  • 3–5 years' experience in cold chain operations.
  • Experience with JDA and cycle counts; intermediate Excel skills.
  • Hardworking, self-motivated, and results-oriented.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Able to work independently and under pressure with high accuracy.
