Role title: Senior Specialist - Strategic RAN Engineering

Contract : 6 months

Location: Midrand

Role purpose:
  • This role is critical to support the end-to-end strategic planning process across the complete network
Key accountabilities and decision ownership
  • Leading traffic impact studies to assess the effect of new services on network infrastructure.
  • Coordinating radio network planning from a capacity and coverage perspective.
  • Linking budget forecasts to growth projections to enable harmonised network expansion.
  • Investigating revenue-traffic relationships to maximise profitability of network enhancements.
  • Producing strategic documentation on new access network technologies and their theoretical impacts.
Core competencies, knowledge and experience
  • 5+ Years experience in RF Design for 3gPP technologies
  • 5+ Years Advanced Experience with GIS and RF Planning tools. Atoll, MapInfo and iBwave skills essential.
  • Data Analytics skills advantageous: Statistics, Coding, SQL, RPA Tool Proficiencies
  • Mastery of RF propagation principles, cellular theory, RF engineering tools and antenna theory.
  • In-depth knowledge of multiband Antenna & Site equipment layout strategies/configurations and solutions. Huawei and Nokia Experience Essential
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
  • A 4 year Electrical/Computer/Data Engineering degree / 3 year Electrical Engineering diploma
  • PLUS 5+ years relevant experience.
