About the Role

We are looking for a Systems & Support Administrator who can confidently manage day-to-day IT administration while providing hands-on technical support to employees at all levels. The role includes user support, hardware and software maintenance, system administration and general IT troubleshooting. You will play an important part in ensuring that our teams remain productive, connected and supported. This role reports to the Chief Technical Officer and has no direct reports.

Key Responsibilities

End-User Support and Troubleshooting


• Provide first-line support for laptops, desktops, printers, Outlook, VPN and general software

issues.


• Assist staff both in person and remotely in a calm and professional manner.


• Prepare, configure and deploy new hardware for employees.


• Manage onboarding and offboarding including device setup, access provisioning and access

removal.


• Create how-to guides to assist staff


• Assist in deployment of company products and systems

Systems Administration


• Create, maintain and deactivate user accounts in Active Directory, Office 365 and internal

systems.


• Support the configuration, upkeep and security of systems, applications and network devices.


• Monitor system performance and alerts and escalate issues where required.


• Assist with updates, patches and routine maintenance activities.


• Monitoring of critical systems


• Monitor and advise on cloud spend and opportunities


• Skills in managing and troubleshooting Windows and Linux operating systems

Hardware, Software and Asset Management


• Install, maintain and upgrade laptops, peripherals, software and productivity tools.


• Maintain an accurate and up-to-date asset register.


• Ensure equipment remains functional, secure and aligned to lifecycle replacement guidelines.


• Assist with procurement and planning for IT equipment.


• Manage and support audiovisual equipment


• Update and support office and cloud equipment


• Manage logistics in moving equipment between offices

Networking and Office Infrastructure


• Office networking


• Switch/Firewall management


• Adjustments to network points

Security and Compliance


• Follow and enforce internal IT policies including password standards and access controls.


• Support security tasks including antivirus checks, updates and basic firewall or VPN operations.


• Assist with backup processes, data protection tasks and disaster recovery activities.

Ticket Management


• Respond to IT support tickets promptly and maintain clear communication with users.


• Troubleshoot issues effectively and escalate where necessary.


• Document resolutions and recurring issues.

Qualifications and Experience

Required:


• Matric


• IT Diploma or relevant technical qualification


• 3 to 4+ years' experience in an IT support or systems administration role


• Experience with Windows OS, Office 365, hardware troubleshooting and basic networking


• Active Directory user management experience

Advantageous:


• Microsoft 365 certifications


• Mimecast exposure


• Experience with virtualisation, firewalls, VPNs or VOIP systems
