Brief Summary of the Role:

The Principal Business Analyst will operate within a center-led programme, working closely with the
Group AML (Anti-Money Laundering) Office
to provide guidance and enable country-level projects on AML implementation. This role combines advanced business analysis expertise with AML assurance review responsibilities, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational effectiveness across multiple jurisdictions and varied operating environments and product offerings.

  • The role will support in-country project teams by ensuring alignment with the AML Office for guidance, assisting with the implementation of their selected AML systems, and taking primary responsibility for conducting periodic assurance reviews. These reviews will assess how each country is deploying its AML solutions and provide the
    Africa Region Cluster
    with a consolidated view of progress.

Role Description

  • Center-Led Programme Role
  • Acts as a central liaison between the Group AML Office and in-country project teams.
  • AML System Alignment:
    Supports countries in implementing their chosen AML systems in line with group standards and minimum requirements.
  • Business Analysis Expertise
    – Work with in-country business analysts to analyse business processes, identify risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities. Document requirements (data models, workflows, interfaces, reports). Lead functional documentation for local solution implementation
  • Solution Design & Implementation
  • Collaborate with in-country business analysts and project teams to design optimal AML system solutions.
  • Periodic Assurance Reviews
  • Conduct reviews of AML processes and system changes to validate compliance.Take primary responsibility for conducting the periodic assurance reviews. These reviews will assess how each country is deploying its AML solutions and provide the Africa Region Cluster with a consolidated view of progress.
  • Track country-level compliance against minimum AML requirements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Liaise with Group AML Office for guidance and alignment. Collaborate with in-country BAs and project teams to ensure consistency in business rules and workflows
  • Continuous Improvement:
    Work with AML Specialists to recommend enhancements to strengthen AML controls and improve efficiency at in-country level.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and industry best practices
  • UAT Strategy
  • Collaborate with and provide guidance to the in-country project teams to develop their UAT strategy and test cases to ensure effective testing of their AML systems
  • Investigates and defines requirements for business processes.
  • Formulates strategies and guidelines to improve the business environment
  • Reviews processes and conducts process audits, as required
  • Provides support and facilitates sessions for in-country teams, e.g. workshop sessions with subject matter experts (SME's) and training.
