SAP Forecasting and Replenishment specialist

About the Role

The SAP F&R Consultant is responsible for the
design, configuration, implementation, and support
of SAP
Forecasting & Replenishment (F&R)
solutions to optimize inventory levels, improve product availability, and streamline replenishment processes across retail and distribution networks.

This role works closely with business stakeholders to ensure the SAP F&R system meets operational and strategic planning needs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Functional Design & Configuration

  • Configure and maintain
    SAP F&R
    processes, including
    forecasting models
    ,
    replenishment parameters
    ,
    store/DC profiles
    , and
    supply chain rules
    .
  • Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications.
  • Integrate SAP F&R with
    SAP Retail
    ,
    SAP SCM
    , or
    SAP S/4HANA
    systems.
  • Participate in end-to-end solution design and testing activities.

2. Forecasting & Replenishment Management

  • Implement and optimize
    demand forecasting algorithms
    based on sales history, seasonality, and promotions.
  • Set up and maintain
    replenishment policies
    , lead times, safety stock, and order cycles.
  • Support the automation of purchase orders or stock transfer orders from stores to distribution centers.

3. System Support & Continuous Improvement

  • Provide
    functional support
    for SAP F&R users (planners, merchandisers, supply chain teams).
  • Troubleshoot system issues, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate resolution with SAP Basis and technical teams.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and recommend system enhancements.

4. Project Delivery

  • Participate in
    SAP implementation
    ,
    upgrade
    , or
    rollout
    projects.
  • Prepare and execute
    UAT (User Acceptance Testing)
    scripts and training materials.
  • Ensure successful
    cutover
    ,
    data migration
    , and
    post-go-live support
    .

5. Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with supply chain, merchandising, IT, and operations teams to align system outputs with business goals.
  • Support decision-making with data-driven insights from SAP F&R analytics.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum
    5 years' experience
    in SAP Functional Consulting (Retail / Supply Chain focus).
  • Hands-on experience in
    SAP F&R configuration
    (Forecasting, Replenishment, Exception Handling).
  • Experience with
    SAP Retail
    ,
    SAP SCM
    , or
    SAP APO
    integration.
  • Strong understanding of retail planning processes, inventory management, and replenishment logic.
  • SAP certification (F&R, Retail, or SCM modules) advantageous.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • In-depth understanding of
    forecasting algorithms
    and
    inventory optimization principles
    .
  • Ability to translate business requirements into SAP functional design.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and documentation skills.
