Job Description

PBT Group is seeking an experienced Senior Java & React Developer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate is a full-stack developer who combines strong backend development expertise in Java (Spring Boot) with solid frontend experience using

You'll be responsible for building, enhancing, and maintaining enterprise-grade applications with a focus on performance, scalability, and user experience. The role is best suited for someone passionate about clean code, software craftsmanship, and continuous improvement within an agile, fast-moving delivery environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using Java (Spring Boot) and
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle — from technical analysis and design to coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including BAs, testers, DevOps, and UX/UI designers.
  • Implement RESTful APIs and integrate frontend and backend services securely and efficiently.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Optimise applications for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and contribute to technical innovation within the team.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 6+ years' experience in Java development, including Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, and RESTful APIs.
  • 2+ years' experience working with , JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
  • Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git version control.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.).
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
