We're Hiring: Software Engineer (Linux/Unix)
Location: Hybrid, based in Menlyn
Experience Required: 4+ years in IT software development

What You'll Need
Essential Skills:
  • Proficiency in Unix/Linux systems
  • Strong coding in Bash, Perl, Python, SQL
  • Experience with Nagios, backup tools
  • Solid networking knowledge (DNS, DHCP, SSH, TCP/IP)
  • Familiarity with VRO, Rudder, Ansible, GitHub
  • Experience with Hashicorp Vault/Nomad, firewalling, SAN
  • Agile Working Model (AWM) responsibilities
Advantageous Skills:
  • PAM products, ServiceNow ITSM Suite
  • Automation and AI integration
  • CipherTrust/Vormetric encryption tools
  • PLSQL, SUSE Linux, GitHub workflows
  • Confluence, JIRA, Dell iDrac
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Information Systems or equivalent
  • Strong Unix/Linux experience
  • Minimum 4 years in software development
Duties:
  • Install, configure, and maintain Unix/Linux servers
  • Monitor performance and troubleshoot issues
  • Apply updates, patches, and security fixes
  • Document systems and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with IT security standards
  • Analyse and integrate systems using AI
  • Design and develop system solutions
  • Collaborate across teams and support operations
  • Maintain code repositories and manage vulnerabilities
  • Participate in continuous improvement
  • Join the Linux standby roster
