How you'll role

The Financial Accountant will report to the Head of Finance and engage in a variety of crucial accounting functions. This role is essential in ensuring the accuracy of financial records through robust month-end processes, general ledger maintenance, and compliance support. It requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional capable of prioritizing tasks effectively under pressure.

What you'll do

  • Process creditor invoices and ensure correct allocation to GL accounts
  • Ensure timely payment of creditors
  • Prepare and distribute management fee invoices for investee companies
  • Follow up on outstanding debtor payments
  • Manage new supplier setups and invoice loading on banking systems
  • Reconcile monthly bank, debtor, and creditor statements
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and forecasts
  • Assist with monthly VAT reconciliations and payments
  • Liaise with external auditors and resolve queries independently
  • Support FSCA compliance by facilitating policy updates and regulatory training

What you'll need

  • B Com degree in Accounting
  • External audit articles
  • 2 years finance experience in a similar role
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Experience with Sage Pastel/Sage One
  • Working knowledge of IFRS and IAS
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Strong team player with good interpersonal skills
  • Tax knowledge (advantageous)
