Hertex is seeking a technically skilled and detail-driven Product Photographer to capture our collections in-studio for use across our digital and print platforms.

The position is full time, on-site.

The successful candidate will report to the Senior Photographer & Stylist and will be based at our head office in Stikland, Bellville.

Purpose of the Role:

The Product Photographer will be responsible for capturing clean, consistent, and high-quality studio images of our collections. The focus of this role is precision — creating technically sound, colour-accurate product photography that reflects the craftsmanship and design integrity of the Hertex and HAUS brands - to ensure each piece is photographed true to form and ready for deep etching and web display. No styled shoots, just clean, consistent, beautiful images that reflect our design ethos.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Photograph all product in a controlled studio environment to brand and technical standards.
  • Set up and manage lighting, camera equipment, and backdrops for accurate, consistent results.
  • Capture images that faithfully represent texture, finish, and form.
  • Process and prepare images for background removal and online use.
  • Work closely with the digital assets manager, product teams to ensure all assets meet brand guidelines.
  • Maintain an efficient image library and ensure all files are correctly named and archived.
  • Take responsibility for studio setup, maintenance, and equipment care.
Desired Experience & Qualification

Skills & Experience required:

  • National senior certificate
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (advantageous).
  • Proven experience as a studio-based product photographer, ideally within the furniture, interiors, or design industry.
  • Strong technical understanding of studio lighting, camera operation, and colour management.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop (RAW processing, retouching, and file preparation).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a strong sense of consistency.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work efficiently to meet production timelines.

Advantageous:

  • Experience with 360° or multi-angle product photography.
  • Familiarity with digital asset management systems and colour calibration tools.
  • An understanding of e-commerce image standards and workflows.
