Introduction

We are seeking highly motivated accounting professionals to join our finance team within the mining sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for a broad range of accounting, financial reporting, and administrative duties. This includes maintaining accurate financial records, preparing statutory and management reports, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, and supporting key finance functions within the organisation.

The Junior Accountant will contribute to the integrity and efficiency of the organisation's financial operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform month-end processing and prepare monthly management reports.

  • Conduct financial analysis and compile reports (monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc).

  • Prepare management, EXCO, and Board Packs.

  • Develop, implement, and monitor financial procedures and internal controls.

  • Liaise with external accounting, audit, and tax professionals.

  • Manage the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules.

  • Prepare and submit all statutory returns and reports.

  • Support senior accountants and finance managers as required.

  • Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure accurate financial recordkeeping.

  • Assist with accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll processing.

  • Prepare and update financial statements in compliance with applicable legislation.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • B.Com Accounting degree or equivalent.

  • If NO DEGREE we require 10 years experience in accounting.

  • Completion of articles is advantageous.

  • 3–5 years' experience performing the full accounting function up to Trial Balance.

  • Experience with Pastel Partner and payroll systems.

  • SARS eFiling experience essential.

  • Experience drafting financial statements and management accounts (e.g., Draftworx) is advantageous.

  • Exposure to data analysis and management reporting is advantageous.

  • Working knowledge of BBBEE processes and reporting is advantageous.

  • Knowledge of mining-related tax legislation, Supplier Development, and Social & Labour Plan (SLP) requirements is advantageous.

  • Experience with CIPC submissions and company secretarial tasks is advantageous.

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to relocate to Middelburg or Ermelo and to travel when required.

  • Own reliable transport.

  • No criminal record.

Package & Remuneration

R23k CTC.
