Description

Primary purpose:

Spearhead the development of high-performance web applications, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure exceptional user experiences.

Key roles and responsibilities:

Agile Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate within an Agile team to plan sprint work effectively.

Design and Front-End Collaboration:

  • Work closely with design and front-end teams to optimize Gumtree products.

Product Team Collaboration:

  • Partner with the product team to develop user-centric features.

Front-End Development:

  • Develop front-end user interfaces and features using React and MarkoJS.
  • Ensure code cleanliness and maintainability.

Best Practices and Quality Assurance:

  • Uphold best practices and maintain software quality.
  • Write tests to minimize bugs.

Build Tools and Deployment:

  • Manage build tools and assist in CI/CD pipeline setup.

Documentation and Mentorship:

  • Maintain documentation and support junior engineers.

Bug Fixing and Legacy Maintenance:

  • Identify and resolve bugs.
  • Maintain legacy applications during their deprecation phase.


Requirements

Education, experience, attributes:

Knowledge, skills and attributes:

  • Goal-oriented and collaborative mindset.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and inquisitive nature.
  • Willingness to share knowledge and mentor colleagues.

Education and training:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.

Experience:

  • 6+ years of experience in front-end development.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Experience with React and NodeJS.
  • Understanding of web performance optimization and API integration.
  • Familiarity with MarkoJS and API Management tools.
  • Experience with AWS and Azure.
