Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled
Mid-Weight Art Director
with a balance of conceptual creativity and executional excellence. The ideal candidate will have a proven background in
senior graphic design
, the ability to
lead creative conceptualisation
, and the confidence to
work independently
within an agency setting.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop high-impact visual communication for brands across
digital, print, mobile, video, and social media
platforms. The successful candidate will be both strategically minded and hands-on, with a strong understanding of creative direction in marketing and advertising environments.

Key Responsibilities

·     Lead and drive the creative conceptualisation and execution of client briefs from idea to final delivery.

·     Design, develop, and present high-quality visual solutions that align with brand and campaign objectives.

·     Work confidently and independently, managing multiple design projects within deadlines and quality expectations.

·     Ability to design visually compelling decks and client presentations.

·     Collaborate with internal departments to produce integrated and cohesive campaigns.

·     Present creative concepts to clients and internal stakeholders, incorporating feedback constructively.

·     Stay abreast of design trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure the agency remains at the forefront of creativity.

·     Support and mentor junior team member(s) when necessary, upholding creative standards and encouraging innovation.

·     Maintain exceptional attention to detail in layout, typography, and design consistency across all deliverables.

·     Assist with the preparation of pitch presentations and new business proposals, translating strategic ideas into visual narratives.

Requirements

·     3–5 years' experience as a Senior Graphic Designer in a marketing, advertising, or creative agency environment.

·     Proven proficiency in the ability to create professional, client-facing presentations.

·     Strong background in graphic design, demonstrating conceptual thinking and high-level execution skills.

·     Accredited tertiary qualification in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field (Degree, Diploma, or Certificate).

·     Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects).

·     Excellent understanding of layout, typography, and brand design systems.

·     Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate creative ideas effectively.

·     Ability to manage multiple projects and work efficiently under pressure.

·     A portfolio that demonstrates concept-driven, professional agency work.

Preferred Skills:

·     Animation or motion design skills.

·     Basic photography skills.

·     Awareness of South African culture, design, and marketing landscapes.
