Role Description

This is a full-time on-site/hybrid role for a Gallery Director located in the City of Johannesburg. The Gallery Director will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the gallery, planning and coordinating exhibitions, managing artist relationships, and promoting the gallery's mission. The role involves administrative tasks, curating exhibitions, organising events, and ensuring the smooth running of the gallery.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in Gallery management and Art Gallery operations
  • Experience in Arts Administration and knowledge of Art History
  • Familiarity with contemporary Art practices and Art curation
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently
  • Experience in building and maintaining relationships with artists and patrons
  • Bachelor's degree in Arts Management, Art History, or a related field
