Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role based in Durban for a Trainee Claims Administrator. The Trainee Claims Administrator will assist in processing and managing insurance claims under supervision, ensure accurate documentation and assessment of claims, and provide exceptional customer service to clients. The role also involves liaising with clients, insurers, and other stakeholders to resolve queries and ensure claims are handled efficiently and effectively.

Core Duties & Responsibilities

  • Capturing, validating, and processing short term insurance claims (Domestic non-motor, domestic motor claims, trucking and commercial claims)
  • Managing claim forms, supporting documents, and maintaining electronic records for compliance purposes.
  • Working with insurer portals and claims administration software(CIMS) and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Liaising with clients, providers, and internal teams, reporting on claim status.
  • Ad hoc administration as required
  • Comply with Service Level Agreements and/or Claims Protocol by administering & facilitating the claims process.
  • Updating all the relevant and required registers such as salvage, repudiation, compliments and complaints, TCF etc.

Key Skills & Qualifications

  • Matric with Bachelor's Pass (Required subjects: Pure Mathematics)
  • Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Professionalism, teamwork , integrity, strong written/verbal communication, and a proactive attitude is crucial.
  • Basic understanding of insurance terms (excesses and exclusions) is favourable
  • Trainees will participate in on-the-job training, product updates, and system enhancements.
  • Own transport
