Newcastle Private Hospital is seeking Physiotherapist applicants to join our team as an on a Part-time basis with shifts primarily across Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays with occasional weekend shifts.

health professionals at Newcastle Private Hospital.  We are a 189 bed, acute, private hospital facility co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park. The hospital has 11 theatres including a hybrid theatre and a 15 bed Intensive Care Unit.

We also have a cardiac suite including a cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16 bed Coronary Care Unit. A private maternity suite including 6 birthing suites and a special care baby nursery is available for families in the Newcastle region. Newcastle Private Oncology Centre provides specialty care for individuals and their families/carers undergoing all aspects of cancer treatment and care with both an inpatient unit and day infusion lounge.

 As Physiotherapist your responsibilities will include:

·       Providing comprehensive Physiotherapy services to acute surgical inpatients including orthopaedics, general surgery, cardiac and neurosurgery.

·       Delivering excellent clinical services related to assessment, treatment, planning and evidence-based practice

·       Participating in program development and quality improvement activities within the Allied Health Department

·       Working closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients and their support people

·       Discharge planning with the multidisciplinary team and referrals to external services.

·       Clinical supervision of physiotherapy and allied health assistant students.

Essential Criteria:

·       Hold a Bachelor in Physiotherapy

·       Current AHPRA Registration

·       Minimum 12 months experience in an acute hospital environment

·       Excellent clinical practice skills to manage a high acuity caseload

·       Highly developed communication skills and interpersonal skills

·       Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

·       Excellent organisation and time management skills

·       Commitment to interdisciplinary teamwork

Desirable Criteria

·       Proven experience in ICU & High acuity surgical settings
