You lead the Albany Bakeries BU in crafting and implementing sustainable transport and distribution solutions to achieve the most effective & competitive costs, the best customer service, and ensure the most efficient use of resources, whilst ensuring a safe working environment from the Delivery Teams and Fleet Maintenance Teams.WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Focus Areas: Risk Management activities relating to the fleet and the delivery service in the trade. Develop the capability of the distribution team. Manage the distribution cost effectively Drive a Customer Service culture Manage the procurement process relating the all fleet at the bakeries Ensure compliance with all internal fleet policies and any transport legislation. Key Tasks: Staff Deployment Initiate and Review Route Viabilities with the Bakery Teams with the aim of managing Distribution costs Talent & Performance Management Fleet organisation and optimal replacement plan Logistics Systems execution Cost Management Continuous benchmarking among bakeries with the aim of driving best practices and shared learnings Develop Fleet Audit documents and conduct fleet audits in all sites (Bakeries & & Depots) WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TABLE:Competencies
Strong Negotiation Skills – Engage in internal and external stakeholders so as to achieve business results. Analytical – Manage complex fleet data and derive actionable insights from the data. Attention to Detail – your work is consistently of a high standard and you can quickly identify and resolve errors in your own work and the work of others Self-management – you are a self-starter who manages their own workload effectively to ensure that deadlines are met and risks to delivery are raised early Communication skills – you have strong written and oral communicationExperience
A Diploma in Logistics Management or equivalent Minimum 3 years' relevant experience within a related environment Minimum 3 year management experience Computer literacy: MS Office with advanced Excel capability Experience of co-ordinating a teams based in multiple sites.In accordance with the employment equity plan of Tiger Brands and its employment equity goals and targets, preference may be given, but is not limited, to candidates from under-represented designated groups.
