Our client is looking for a Technical Test Team Lead to oversee end-to-end testing strategies, drive automation initiatives, and mentor the QA team. The role ensures strong quality standards across the full SDLC from planning to delivery while aligning QA efforts with broader project and business objectives. You will collaborate closely with development, DevOps, and business teams to support efficient, high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and own the automation testing strategy in alignment with project and product goals.
  • Identify automation opportunities, perform ROI assessments, and prioritize test cases for automation.
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable automation frameworks (Hybrid, BDD, POM) for both UI and API layers using Selenium (Java, TestNG) and Playwright (JavaScript).
  • Develop detailed automation test plans outlining objectives, tools, timelines, scope, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Review test scripts, analyze execution results, and ensure adherence to testing standards and best practices.
  • Monitor test coverage and quality metrics, reporting progress and risks to relevant stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement across testing processes, tools, and automation frameworks.
  • Actively participate in sprint ceremonies, including planning, grooming, and retrospectives, as part of agile delivery teams.

Required Experience

  • Strong leadership and communication abilities, with experience managing QA teams and stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of STLC, Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent technical and analytical skills with a proven ability to learn new technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Selenium (TestNG) or Playwright (JavaScript).
  • Proven experience building Selenium TestNG or Playwright frameworks from scratch.
  • 10+ years of software testing experience, including 2–4 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience testing RESTful APIs and backend services using Postman and SOAP tools.
  • Knowledge of Git-based version control systems and project tools (Azure DevOps, Jira with Zephyr, GitHub, Confluence).
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in short-term insurance projects.
  • Familiarity with performance testing tools such as K6, JMeter, or Gatling.
  • Experience generating reports using Allure or Extent Reports.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins.

Nice to have

  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript; Python experience is an added advantage.
  • Expertise in frameworks such as Data-Driven, Hybrid, and TestNG.
  • Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes environments.
  • Understanding of security testing practices and tools like OWASP ZAP.
  • Basic Excel formula knowledge for report creation.
  • Exposure to mobile testing frameworks such as Appium.
  • Experience with cross-browser and cross-device testing using BrowserStack or Sauce Labs.

Qualifications
:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent qualification.
